GEMMA WARD BECAME FAT
The supermodel Gemma Ward gains weight since her lover Heath Ledger death. After Ledger’s death, Gemma announced that she planned to take a year off to go to trekking in Nepal and spend time with friends and family.
“She knows she did let herself go during the year, but she had fun doing it, just being herself and doing whatever she wanted,” one friend, who did not want to be named, said.
Gemma was ranked by Forbes magazine as the 11th most highly paid model in the world, she earned $3 million from her doll-face looks in 2007.
At the beginning of 2009, Gemma’s weight was an issue again, since she was spotted in a bikini after gaining a visible amount of weght. “Gemma Ward, the strikingly thin model who once captivated the international fashion scene, has piled on weight as she continues to struggle with the loss of friend Heath Ledger” (who was rumored to be her lover)”. Ledger was found dead of a possible drug overdose in a Lower Manhattan apartment.
Based on the latest news, Gemma Ward plans to be back on the catwalk next year. Gemma also intends to go to university and is taking Shakespearian acting classes.
“I have not ‘quit modelling’ and my fans back home can expect to see me back at work modelling and acting in the new year,” she said in an email to The West Australian. Well, I hope she walking at runway soon!!! (image from smh.com.au and skinnyvscurvy.com)

Heath Ledger presented Gemma to his family and friends in Perth, Australia when they both spent Christmas there as his ‘girlfriend’, so it is very rude of you and the gossip press to say she was his lover. Just a little bit of research, particularly by researching the Australian press during his last Christmas there will have made it clear. Just because Heath and Gemma wanted to keep their relationship secret as long as possible in order to not let fame/the gossip press spoil it and make it into an ‘ugly’ thing, as they had in the past with his other relationships, doesn’t mean they were not serious about eachother. They spent his last Christmas and New Years together and her father Dr Ward even said after Heath’s death that Gemma had made Heath very happy. Her family were so worried about her state of mind when he died that her sister Sophie even had to move to New York from Australia to look after her for a few months.
Who care’s if she put on a bit of weight, or loads of weight. Nobody has the right to judge others in the way they choose to grief. Perhaps unconciously, Gemma doesn’t want to find love again for now, so it’s her way of keeping men away from her, by not conforming to the ‘hot girl’ image that is so prevalent in ‘celebrity’ society, which I believe she finds shallow. She clearly hasn’t got over Heath’s death, which again proves they were a couple for far longer than people could possibly imagine.
Gemma is studying Theatre Studies at Yale University and is trying to fill the gap Heath left behind by finding fulfilment in another part of her life, considering she suffered such a blow in her love life. It must be truly devastating to have a boyfriend die on you when you are 20 years old just when you are shortly about to make your relationship more or less public (after his official split from the mother of his child although unofficially they had already split a year before shortly before he had started wooing and dating Gemma whilst in New York).
If Gemma really wanted to she could lose the excess fat in a month, but she doesn’t want to FOR NOW, so let’s just leave her alone and stop cyber BULLYING her. It’s not like she is constantly trying to be in the press, she’s not, so why pick on her on how she looks?
