Chanel Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2010. Karl Lagerfeld used the Huangpu River and neon-lit skyline of Shanghai as the dramatic setting for Chanel’s latest pre-fall collection extravaganza. Draping a 280-foot-long barge in matte ebony and projecting his own imagined voyage of Coco Chanel’s trip to China, titled “Paris Shanghai, A Fantasy,”.
We can see the influence of Asian embellishments and hues became clear in jewel-encrusted panels on dresses and coats and ripe, bright reds rendered on a gorgeous wasp-waisted gown and the piping of a boxy black coat. Read the rest of this entry »
Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2010

Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2010 takes inspiration from autumn leaves in Central Park. Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2010 collections is all about bold color. Plum, brandy, olive, and heath with touches of parrot green and kingfisher blue.
Karan used a peacock camouflage, the collection’s sole print, for a cargo jacket—a piece that had the dual function of dressing up her pegged, elasticized skirts, or dressing down one of her slinky jersey gowns. Also cutie and versatile was the double-knit bustier and silk jersey floor-grazing skirt combo she proposed for evening. This was signature Karan with its juxtapositions of utilitarian army jackets and trenches alongside relaxed T-shirt dresses and trapeze chemises. (style.com) Read the rest of this entry »

I better buy 3-6 meters lenght of fabric like cotton fabric, chiffon fabric, brokat fabric, sari fabric, etc and I will made a dress based on my own design. I feel more confident with my own design.

Paper Dress, Cutie or Not???!!??

Paper dresses first made by the Scott Paper Company in 1966 and costing just one dollar, the very first marketed paper dress was an advertising tool. The surprise was that the company received 500,000 orders for that shapeless dress in less than a year.
From paper bell-bottom suits, paper bikinis, paper slippers, and paper wedding gowns were made. A chemical treatment made them almost fireproof, washable but didn’t add any strength to the paper material. Read the rest of this entry »
