Costume designer Colleen Atwood had quite the challenge in designing costumes for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.”

The photograph shows a starkly handsome Chinese man walking with a model’s measured gait, and wearing a rag-tag but well co-ordinated overcoat on top of a leather jacket. His eyes peer into the middle distance, in what one fan described as “a deep and penetrating way”, and he strides confidently forward. But this is no catwalk model. This is a homeless man in the city of Ningbo. And now a band of web followers are calling him the coolest man in China.
His good looks and bohemian dress sense have won him thousands of online fans after a resident of Ningbo posted a picture online. Web users in China have called him the “Beggar Prince”, the “Handsome Vagabond”, and, most often, “Brother Sharp”. Agyness Deyn and Jessica Stam Become Designers

Two Super models trying their hands at designing. The ladies are doing special one-off collections that are probably going to go for a ton on eBay. Barneys Japan has teamed up with British model Agyness Deyn to produce a special collection of 11 items including dresses, knits, scarves, t-shirts and leggings, which retail from 18,900 yen, or about $212, to 27,300 yen, or $307. The initiative is part of Barneys’ environmental campaign Go Green Go and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the planting of trees in inner Mongolia. Deyn’s line will make its retail debut at the opening of Barneys’ new store in Kobe on Friday. It will be sold at Barneys’ Shinjuku location in Tokyo beginning March 13. Read the rest of this entry »

Lily Allen leaves music for fashion??? “Fashion is now what I’m doing—it’s a whole new adventure for me,” said Lily Allen in West Sussex, confirming rumors she’s leaving music behind. “My last gig is at the O2 on March 7, and that’s about it.”
The popstar will launch her new fashion venture, “Lucy in Disguise”, this summer. The project, which will see her sourcing vintage clothes with her sister, Sarah Owen, will be launched during the Vintage at Goodwood festival in August before moving to a permanent home. Goodwood, set on the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, will play host to many vintage stalls, dealers, and more.
