02 18th, 2010 Author: adminMarios Schwab unveiled his first collection for Halston in a dimly-lit warehouse space in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen. The label, which has had a revolving door of owners and designers since Roy Halston Frowick died in 1990, has struggled to articulate a cohesive vision following the acquisition of the brand in 2007 by Harvey Weinstein and the private equity fund Hilco Consumer Capital.
Last year, Halston’s management team hired a young London-based designer, Marios Schwab, for its collection, and more recently tapped Sarah Jessica Parker to be the designer of the brand’s lower priced “Halston Heritage” line. Read the rest of this entry »

Alexander McQueen commits suicide, found dead in London home

British famous fashion designer Alexander McQueen was discovered dead today after taking his own life. The Daily Mail are reporting that visionary fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead over night, presumed to be suicide.
The industry was left reeling after the 40-year-old’s suicide this morning, which comes just days after the death of his beloved mother, Joyce.
